Kirindi Ella Falls
Kirindi Falls, standing at an awe-inspiring height of 116 meters, is sourced from Kirindi Ella stream, which originates from Kuttapitiya Mountain's peak at a height of 940 meters. The stream travels for 13 kilometers before reaching the Kaluwaramukalana Jungle, where it cascades down the falls. It then flows via the Denawaka River to the Kaluganga River, located in the Bambarakotuwa Jungle. According to local villagers, there is a stone with a picture of a tortoise etched in it in this area.
At the base of the falls lies Diyagathwala, a deep pool where the water plunges into. According to local folklore, there are stone steps leading down to the bottom, where a treasure trove is hidden. However, it's essential to note that the water completely dries up during droughts, and there have been no reports of any found treasure.
