Eli Hatha Falls

The Eli Hatha waterfall is a cluster of seven waterfalls on the Naya River located within the Sri Pada Nature Reservation, standing at a height of 100 meters. Each of these falls is designated with a number, starting from the bottom. While not frequently visited by regular travelers, it is a popular spot for passionate hikers. However, in 2012, there were reports that a mini hydro power plant was being constructed in the Nature Reserve in violation of various environmental regulations by a doctor with close connections to the government. The project involves building a dam at waterfall number 3, with the water being redirected to the turbine at waterfall number 1. If the construction goes ahead, waterfalls 4, 5, 6, and 7 will be completely dried up.
