Ravana Ella is a waterfall located 4.7 kilometers from Ella town and is considered one of Sri Lanka's widest waterfalls, standing at a height of 82 feet. Legend has it that the falls were named after the legendary character Ravana from the Indian epic Ramayana, who kidnapped Princess Sita and hid her behind the caves of the waterfall, now known as the Ravana Ella Caves.

The Ravana Ella waterfall is part of the Ravana Ella Wildlife Sanctuary and during the wet season from April to November, it resembles an areca flower. However, during the dry season, the falls may not look as impressive, despite having a continuous flow of water.
