Lipton’s Seat
Lipton's Seat, a world famous viewpoint is located towards the east of Haputhale along the Dambetenna Road, also closer to the beautiful city of Ella. This view point which is above 1970 meters above sea level is named after Sir Thomas Lipton. Sir Thomas Lipton was the owner of the Dambetenna Tea Estate and was the was the first to export Ceylon tea under the name "Lipton Ceylon tea". The viewpoint overlooking the Dambetenna Tea Estate is known to be the place where Sir Thomas Lipton used to sit and enjoy the views of his plantation with its stony landscape and green tea bushes.
