Eth Vehera Stupa

The Eth Vehera or the stupa of Elephant is one of the three hills and is believed to be the highest of the Mihintale mountain range.

The peak is where you may find the small brick stupa's remnants. There is no historical evidence to support the creation's genesis. On their inscriptions, King Mahinda IV and King Kassapa both mentioned this stupa.

Whatever its origin, the steep ascent to the summit's lush tropical vegetation and animals is gratifying. The ascent is worthwhile for the aerial perspective of the nearby hills, plains, and lakes. While one can admire the picturesque view of Mahakanadara Wewa from a distance, the Maha Seya, Ambastala, and Aradhana Gala are far away. A feast for the eyes is the Kaludiya Pokuna complex and the numerous ruins dispersed across a vast expanse of land.
