Olu Ella Falls

Ranked as the sixth tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka and the tallest in Kegalle District, Olu Ella is connected to the Kelani River and fed by the Wee Oya originating from the 1200-meter-high Baranawa mountain. Welihel Oya in the Parusella area also contributes to the waterfall before it flows into the Kelani River at Yatiyanthota. With a width of 18 meters and a height of 127 meters falling in four segments, Olu Ella is a magnificent sight that can be reached by car without much walking. However, its remote location has kept it from becoming a garbage dump for tourists. The road to Seepoth passes through the middle of the waterfall, and an ancient wooden bridge built during the colonial era to transport tea leaves still stands over the Wee Oya, believed to be the oldest wooden bridge in use in the country today.
