There are many folklores wrapped around the construction of the temple. The legend says that many centuries ago a farmer has come across a cleft between two large rocks. Inside the cleft he discovered many sickles made out of gold. The delighted farmer, from there on wards, borrows one golden sickle every day to farm and returns the borrowed sickle at the end of the day. His fields soon produced a rich harvest. The farmer knew it was the work of the golden sickle. With his success greed overtakes the farmer. He takes two sickles and forgets to return them back.
