Bahirawa Kanda
Although the statue was built in 1972, the location of the statue has a lot of folklore related to it. The legend has it that there was a powerful Devalaya on top of Bahirawakanda. Bahirava deviyo of the temple is a mythical character who was a powerful evil spirit. This Devalaya was responsible for sacrificing beautiful girls. This Devalaya flourished during the Nayakkar kings. The sacrifice came to an end with the bravery of a man named Dunuwilla Gajanayake Nilame who almost lost his fiancé to this devalaya.
