Delft Wild Horses
The island is divided into two parts - one for the villagers and the other for horses and cattle. The introduction of wild horses on the island prompted the planting of new vegetation, including medicinal plants and baobab trees to feed them. The population of wild horses on the island ranges from 500 to 1500. They can be seen grazing on the grasslands early in the morning and seeking shade during the hottest parts of the day. However, during the dry season, there is a scarcity of water, which poses a challenge for the horses to survive.
