Chapel Hill Lighthouse

Trincomalee has served as a natural harbor and prominent shipping port since ancient times, with various empires claiming control over the harbor, including the British. Today, Trincomalee is a well-known tourist destination famous for its pristine and undeveloped beaches. The town is home to three lighthouses: Chapel Hill Lighthouse, Round Island Lighthouse, and Foul Point Lighthouse. Chapel Hill Lighthouse is situated in the north of Trincomalee harbor on a small island and is operated by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority. Its focal plane is 111 m (364 ft), and it emits a white flash every 10 seconds. Access to the lighthouse is by boat only.
