Aberdeen falls

The magnificent 98-meter fall is part of the Kehelgamuwa River, which joins the Maskeli River in Kalugala before emptying into the ocean via the Kelani River. Unfortunately, the Norton Bridge dam built as part of the Lakshapana Project has reduced the amount of water in the fall, although it still cascades unless there is an extreme drought. Folklore holds that there is a tunnel connecting Aberdeen Falls with the neighboring Lakshapana Falls, and that its opening may be seen close to the Puna River.

The Kehelgamuwa mountain range, which comprises an area made up of Ginigathhena, Norton Bridge, Lakshapana, and Maskeliya, is home to Aberdeen fall, which is situated 6 kilometers from the Nuwara Eliya town.
