Maskeliya Ravana Gala

According to legend, King Ravana was believed to have had six airports to land his flying machine, Dandu Monara, in Sri Lanka. These locations are now the subject of much speculation and intrigue. One of the most popular of these sites is Wariyapola, a city in the Kurunegala district. The name Wa-Riya-Pola translates to Air-Vehicle-Port and is believed to have been one of the landing sites of Ravana's Vimana. Thotupola Kanda, a mountain located in the middle of the country, is another well-known location. Thotupola translates to port or terminal in English, and it is also used for ferry terminals without an adjective. The third popular site is Gurulupotha, an archaeological site today. Gurulupotha is translated as 'parts of peacock', and it is believed to have been a repair centre for Ravana's Vimana, Dandumonara.
