Hakgala Botanical Garden

Haggala Gardens is a botanical garden located in Haggala, Sri Lanka. The garden is located around 5 km from the city of Nuwara Eliya and is known for its collection of exotic plants and flowers. The garden was established in 1861 by the British Governor of Ceylon, Sir Samuel Baker, as a research station for experimenting with temperate crops. It is particularly famous for its collection of roses, which includes over 300 different varieties.

The garden covers an area of around 14 hectares and is home to a wide variety of plants, including ferns, orchids, and cacti. The garden also has a number of greenhouses where visitors can see plants from different climates. The garden is also home to a number of animals, including peacocks and monkeys.
