Viharamahadevi Park
The Park was built on land donated to the Colombo City during the British rule, by Charles Henry de Soysa an entrepreneur and philanthropist of the time. It was originally named “Victoria Park”, after Queen Victoria. During World War II, it was occupied by the British Army and the Australian 17th Brigade was based at the Park.
