Royal Court of king Parakramabahu

This structure, located in front of the palace, was built by King Parakramabahu in Sri Lanka. It is built on three layers of solid rock, each layer decorated with different carvings. The first layer features carved elephants in different postures, the second layer with figures of lions, and the last layer with images of "Wamana".

The entrance to the building is through two intricately carved lions. The roof is supported by 48 stunning stone pillars laid out in four rows. To the south-east of the court, there are remains of an ancient toilet.
