Peessa Ella Falls
The fall is named after the ancient Sinhala word "peessa," which refers to a place where people gathered. It is believed that King Dutugamunu gathered workmen at this spot to build religious structures such as Viharas and Dagabas. The Peessa Canal, which starts from a minor fall, irrigates around 20 hectares of land in the agricultural colony throughout the year. Additionally, five turbines supply power to the surrounding area.
