Oluvil Lighthouse

The most recently constructed lighthouse in Sri Lanka can be found in the Eastern Province, specifically in Oluvil. Standing at a height of 80 feet, the Oluvil Lighthouse was built in 1999 by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, with the State Engineering Corporation undertaking the piling work. The lighthouse is equipped with a Pedestal Rotating Beacon and emits a light characteristic of group flash two every 10 seconds, with a range of 20 nautical miles.
