Gampaha Botanical Garden

The Gampaha Botanic Gardens, also known as the Henarathgoda Botanic Gardens, can be found on the Gampaha-Minuwangoda main road, only 450 meters away from the Gampaha Railway Station. Established by the British in 1876, the gardens were created to experiment with exotic economic plants such as rubber and to study the flora and economic development of the colony. Encompassing 43 acres, this park is home to an extensive collection of tropical plants, making it one of the oldest botanical gardens in Sri Lanka. Situated on the border of Attanagallu Oya, the park actively promotes the development and education of floriculture and botanical research, and is a renowned institution for the conservation of the country's flora.
