Pilkington Point

The Pilkington point, located at an altitude of 1400 meters above sea level, is a popular panoramic viewpoint for travelers visiting Haputale and Bandarawela. The point was named after Sir Pilkington, the first manager of the Poonagalla Group, who utilized this spot to oversee the vast tea estate of Poonagala in the late 1800s.

On a clear day, the view from this point extends to the districts of Monaragala, Hambanthota, Rathnapura, and a section of Ampara. In addition, one can see Three Light Houses, Tissa Tank, Hauda Panagalla tank, and more.
